Not half bad. Jeff Bridges plays the legendary outlaw as a past-his-prime, bored-with-fame, ornery opium addict. Besides a few too many "History of Wild Bill" moments crammed into the First Act and some very heavy-handed solarized black and white flashback/dream sequences, there's a good deal to enjoy here. Even David Arquette as his would-be assassin is tolerable. Kind of makes me wish Hill had directed more than just the pilot episode of Deadwood. It's a toss-up between which one is better...this feature film or that fine first hour of TV.
